CARDINAL NOTES
- Jewell saw their 12-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday afternoon with a 16-6 loss to Upper Iowa. Prior to that game, the Cardinals had swept series over Bemidji State, Upper Iowa and Missouri S&T.
- Alex Epp has upped his batting average to .417 after going 13-for-24 over the last eight days which included 14 RBI and nine runs scored.
- Jake Wilcox leads the league with 24 total runs and is second with 30 hits while hitting .441 from the lead off position.
- Chandler Ashby is the reigning GLVC Pitcher of the Week after throwing a seven inning complete game shutout of Missouri S&T last weekend, allowing just one hit and striking out eight.
- As a team, the Cardinals lead the league with 41 doubles, led by Epp, Kaden Owens and Dawson Tweet who have six each.
- Mike Stockton who is in his 22nd season at the helm of the Cardinal baseball program, is a member of the William Jewell Athletics Hall of Fame, owning more than 600 career victories.
