The percentage of unemployed residents was less than the statewide total of 37 percent for this demographic group. In 2018 the total Gladstone population reached 22,144.

Out of 14,759 people who had a job, 28 were employed in the Armed Forces and 14,731 belonged to the civilian labor force.
