Cardinals Travel to Drury for First GLVC Road Series

LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball looks to remain unbeaten in GLVC play this weekend as they travel to Drury University  for four games.

NCAA ERA SERIES

  • 15-25 Overall
  • First Meeting: April 14, 2012 (6-2, W)
  • Last Meeting: May 2, 2022 (19-2, W)
CARDINAL NOTES

  • Jewell saw their 12-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday afternoon with a 16-6 loss to Upper Iowa. Prior to that game, the Cardinals had swept series over Bemidji State, Upper Iowa and Missouri S&T.
  • Alex Epp has upped his batting average to .417 after going 13-for-24 over the last eight days which included 14 RBI and nine runs scored. 
  • Jake Wilcox leads the league with 24 total runs and is second with 30 hits while hitting .441 from the lead off position. 
  • Chandler Ashby is the reigning GLVC Pitcher of the Week after throwing a seven inning complete game shutout of Missouri S&T last weekend, allowing just one hit and striking out eight. 
  • As a team, the Cardinals lead the league with 41 doubles, led by Epp, Kaden Owens and Dawson Tweet who have six each.
  • Mike Stockton who is in his 22nd season at the helm of the Cardinal baseball program, is a member of the William Jewell Athletics Hall of Fame, owning more than 600 career victories.
