North Kansas City Hospital has been awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade by The Leapfrog Group. The nonprofit organization is recognized for its focus on patient safety, specifically addressing preventable medical errors, infections, and injuries.

The hospital, which has served the Northland community for over 67 years, is committed to providing "hope and healing to every life we touch." It is an acute care facility with 451 licensed beds and a medical staff of more than 600 physicians across 49 specialties. NKCH's offerings include cardiovascular, orthopedic, cancer, emergency, neuroscience, and women’s health services, among others.

NKCH operates through its subsidiary, Meritas Health, which includes the largest network of provider practices in the Northland. This network consists of over 280 primary and specialty care doctors and advanced practice providers. It spans more than 35 locations, including an express care clinic at the 64th Street Hy-Vee store.

The hospital has also earned several recognitions. It has the American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet designation, a four-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval. Moreover, it holds certifications in areas such as Comprehensive Cardiac Center, Advanced Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement, Spine Surgery, Perinatal Care, Primary Stroke Center, and Wound Care Management.
