NKC Health has received the highest level of recognition from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for its participation in the Get With the Guidelines quality improvement registry. This marks the third consecutive year that NKC Health has achieved this distinction.
The recognition highlights NKC Health’s efforts to deliver quality care to patients with heart failure, stroke, and those requiring resuscitation. The organization uses current research and evidence-based guidelines in its approach, and also provides resources to help patients manage their recovery at home.

Among seven awards received by NKC Health are a fourth consecutive Gold Plus Award for Stroke Care and a third consecutive Gold Plus Award for Heart Failure. Other honors include:
- Get With the Guidelines Heart Failure Gold Plus: Recognizes commitment to using up-to-date guidelines for treating heart failure, reducing readmissions, and supporting more healthy days at home.
- Target: Heart FailureSM Optimal: Given to hospitals that help patients manage their condition through medication use, timely follow-up care, education, and reduced readmissions.
- Target: Type 2 DiabetesSM Honor Roll (Heart Failure): Aims to ensure hospitalized patients with Type 2 diabetes receive evidence-based care when admitted due to heart disease or stroke.
- Get With the Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus: Highlights commitment to providing appropriate treatment for stroke patients based on national research-based guidelines.
- Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll Elite Plus: Awarded for meeting standards that reduce time between patient arrival and thrombolytic treatment.
- Target: Type 2 DiabetesSM Honor Roll (Stroke): Recognizes hospitals delivering top evidence-based care for stroke patients with Type 2 diabetes.
- Get With The Guidelines Resuscitation Bronze: Honors strong commitment to treating in-hospital cardiac arrest with proven methods aimed at improving survival rates.
